Phoenix Bus Project: FAQ

The Phoenix Bus Project is an ambitious venture to bring Web3, AI, and gaming to communities across North America. Below, we answer your questions about the project, its goals, and how you can get involved.

What is the Phoenix Bus Project?

The Phoenix Bus is a 40-foot vintage bus (history/specs) being transformed into an off-grid, mobile Web3 activation hub. It’s designed to travel across Canada and the U.S., hosting workshops, gaming events, and marketing support for local businesses. Powered by solar panels, Starlink, and blockchain tools, it’s a rolling platform for education, community engagement, and decentralized tech.

Why is it called the “Phoenix” Bus?

The name “Phoenix” reflects the bus’s rebirth from a weathered 1980s vehicle into a modern tech hub, rising again as a symbol of innovation and resilience, much like the mythical bird.

What does a “Web3 activation hub” mean?

A Web3 activation hub is a mobile platform that introduces people to decentralized technologies like blockchain, NFTs, and Web3 gaming. The Phoenix Bus will:

  • Teach communities how to use crypto wallets and explore projects like Star Atlas.
  • Offer AI-driven marketing tools for small businesses.
  • Host gaming events to showcase Web3’s potential in entertainment. It’s about making complex tech accessible and relevant to everyday people.

Who is behind the project?

I’m the driving force behind the Phoenix Bus, fueled by a passion for Web3, AI, and community outreach. Through my work with the Galia Business Association and Star Atlas DAO, I’ve seen the power of decentralized tech to create opportunities. The project also relies on partners like Solana, Helium Mobile, and Hivemapper, listed on our main project page. Further details are available in the project docs.

How will the bus benefit communities?

The Phoenix Bus aims to:

  • Educate: Offer free or low-cost workshops on blockchain, AI, and gaming for rural and underserved areas.
  • Empower: Provide AI-driven marketing support to help local businesses grow.
  • Connect: Bring people together through gaming events and Web3 activations, fostering collaboration.
  • Inspire: Share stories of tech adoption through content creation.

Is the bus environmentally friendly?

Yes! The bus will be off-grid, powered by 8 solar panels and battery storage. We’re also exploring tokenized energy systems to track and optimize energy use. Our goal is to demonstrate sustainable tech in all areas.

How is the project funded?

The project is funded through a mix of:

  • Personal investment and savings.
  • Grants from programs like the Nova Scotia Small Business Program, Star Atlas DAO, and Solana Foundation.
  • Crowdfunding campaigns for specific goals.
  • Partnerships with Web3 organizations and local businesses. You can support us directly on our Donation page.

What’s the timeline for the bus?

We’re working in three phases:

  • Q2-Q3 2025: Repair the bus, and prepare the foundational structure for the launch of local events in Nova Scotia with global content coverage
  • Q4 2025-Q1 2026: Implement advanced tech powered by off-grid systems to expand to regional events.
  • Q2 2026 Onward: Tour North America, targeting gaming and blockchain conventions. Check our project docs for detailed development progress.
